Chamber Coffee at Eagles Landing – Lake Olathe, cohosted by Memory Maker KC

With more than 100 attendees, the coffees are the largest weekly networking event in the Kansas City metro area. They are held on Thursdays at a different member business or organization each week. Networking begins at 9:00, with a half hour program at 9:30, followed by additional networking for those who want to continue. Guests are welcome!

Please join us for our first Serve and Social for Leadership Olathe participants and alumni.  This event will be from 4 - 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 23 at Heart to Heart International, 11550 Renner Blvd.    The first hour will be focused on giving back to the community, followed by a social hour to network with fellow Leadership Olathe alumni!    At Heart to Heart International we will be preparing medical aid kids from 4 - 5 p.m.  At 5 p.m., we will have a social hour where we will hear from Dr. Gary Morsch, founder of Heart to Heart International.    Tours of the facility will be available after 6 p.m.

MTC Kids Jam – Billy Jonas ‘Who’s Gonna Make Our Music?!’

The MTC Kids Jam concert series is specially designed with families in mind! Join us in the MTC lobby at 10 a.m. for art activities led by the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art, followed by a 60-minute concert. Participation is the name of the game at this concert! Billy Jonas believes creating a bright future starts with kids. Using homemade and recyclable “re-percussion” instruments, songs that celebrate community, as well as personal and planetary ecology, his think-outside-the-box performances occur at schools, colleges, universities and libraries around the country. Jonas’ goal is to plant musical seeds that will help grow creative, open-minded, engaged and open-hearted citizens of the world.

‘Curtis on Tour’ Featuring David Shifrin, clarinet; John de Lancie, narrator; Soovin Kim, violin

The Nina von Maltzahn Global Touring Initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music, Performing Stravinsky’s ‘L’Histoire du soldat’ and more A thrilling tale of trickery and magic, Igor Stravinsky’s L’Histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) comes to life through an ensemble of musicians from the Curtis Institute of Music. The program, designed for audiences in North America, also features works by Penderecki, Poulenc, and Curtis alumnus Viet Cuong. Repertoire includes (subject to change): - Well-Groomed for solo snare drum – Viet Cuong (b. 1990) - Sonata for clarinet and bassoon, FP 32a – Francis Poulenc (1899–1963) Allegro Romance Final - Duo Concertante for violin and double bass – Krzysztof Penderecki (1933–2020) - Commissioned Work for Curtis on Tour – Title TBD – Nicholas DiBerardino (b. 1989) - L’Histoire du soldat (The Soldier’s Tale) – Igor Stravinsky (1882­–1971) Curtis performers team up with beloved actor and narrator John de Lancie, who voices the characters, award-winning performer David Shifrin (clarinet ’71) and prominent recitalist Soovin Kim (violin ’99).
