Humana Inc. is holding a special commemoration ceremony on August 31 at the CenterWell Senior Primary Care Center in Olathe, KS. As part of the 50thanniversary commemoration, all who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War period – from Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975 – are invited to attend and receive a special lapel pin as a memento of the nation’s gratitude. Walter Schley will serve as the keynote speaker for the event, with other organizations sponsoring, including Humana, CenterWell Senior Primary Care and Advocate Health. The Vietnam War Commemoration Program was established in 2012 as a 13-year-long commitment to recognize the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The program is an opportunity to thank Vietnam War-era Veterans and their families for their service and runs through Veterans Day 2025. Audiences will delight in a feast for the eyes as four new works premiere on Yardley Hall stage. For the 10th festival of contemporary and modern dance, the Midwest Trust Center has enlisted four choreographers to create original works for four local dance companies to perform at the world premieres. Each new work will then be owned by the dance company for two years for use in their own programs.
