Mission Southside is a local non-profit that extends “help through hope” to the community’s most marginalized, low-income populations. The Leadership Olathe Class of 2024 and many other community members contributed their time, talents and donations towards a strategic partnership between Mission Southside and the American Legion. Together, these partners have transformed their shared green space into a community space to be used for family sports nights, a youth soccer club, summer day camps, neighborhood events and Legion events, all free of charge to the community. The Fields of Hope project will include a soccer field, sand volleyball court, upgrades to the existing pavilion with a commercial grill, a fire pit and horseshoe pits.
