"Beyond Babel" is about the division of families, friends and a community of people as authorities decide to build a wall between them. We follow two divinely linked lovers as they reconcile with the rising tensions of a populace cut in half. The show is set to a contemporary soundtrack and features a cast of 12 elite dancers. It is described by the New York Times as "astonishing and irresistible."

The Nerman Museum invites you to a dialogue between Mary Frances Ivey, Guest Curator for the Elizabeth Layton: Drawing as Discourse exhibition, and Don Lambert, Elizabeth Layton’s advocate and friend. If you’d like to watch this talk live online, RSVP to receive livestreaming link. A reception at the Nerman Museum Atrium will follow the in-person talk. Elizabeth Layton: Drawing as Discourse will be on view in the Nerman Museum’s Kansas Focus Gallery and Oppenheimer New Media Gallery January 25 through July 28, 2024. The exhibition brings together 30 of Layton’s drawings and highlights the enduring legacy of her work. Taking cues from the artist’s interest in the power of art to inform, disarm, and engage, this exhibition presents Layton’s work as a space for discourse.
