Join us for the Kansas City Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) Torch Walk and help carry the flame of hope for Special Olympics Kansas athletes! Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025 Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Location: Frontier Park (15501 Indian Creek Pkwy, Olathe, KS 66062) The LETR Torch Walk is a 5K walk through the beautiful trails of Frontier Park, bringing together law enforcement officers, Special Olympics athletes, and community members in support of inclusion and empowerment. Participants will receive the official 2025 KS LETR Torch Run Shirt as part of your $25 registration. This event is open to all – whether you're a law enforcement officer, an athlete, a family member, or a supporter, we encourage you to come walk with us and show your support for the 5,500+ Special Olympics athletes across Kansas!  Help us reach our goal of 50-100 participants! From volunteer opportunities and what to expect when the teams – and fans – from across the world come to town.    You’ll hear from Julie Karins, Johnson County Deputy County Manager; Tracy Whelpley, director of Regional Impact for FIFA World Cup 2026; and Lori Thomas, former Commissioner of the Heart of America Conference and leader of the volunteer operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
