World Cup Watch Party next Monday

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce’s Olathe Convention & Visitors Bureau is hosting an official U.S. Soccer Watch Party for the 2022 World Cup from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex. The game between the U.S. Men’s National team vs. Wales kicks off at 1 p.m. The watch party is powered by Comcast and Xfinity. It’s a free, family-friendly event. Everyone is invited to attend.

The World Cup Watch Party will feature the live FOX broadcast on a huge LED screen and on additional flat screens around the complex. The event will offer sponsor booths with giveaways, yard games and concessions.

The watch party sponsors are Comcast, Xfinity, WestStar Development, Garmin, Kansas State Youth Soccer Association, Subaru of Olathe, Honda of Olathe, the City of Olathe, and Culligan Water.

Stay up-to-date on everything going with the watch party here.

We encourage all watch party attendees to bring non-perishable food items to the event. There will be collection bins for Harvesters at each entrance. Monetary donations can be made the day of the event using QR codes on site or in advance of the event here. Harvesters partners with eight food pantries in Olathe, so we’re proud to assist these pantries during the holiday season.

Final Business Lunch Series packed full of higher education info

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce Business Lunch Series, “Higher Education Update” at the Ball Event Center last week was a huge hit with attendees as they heard about the ever-changing landscape of higher education.

Attendees heard from Dr. Andy Bowne of Johnson County Community College, Debbie Kirchhoff of Kansas State University – Olathe and Dr. David Spittal of MidAmerica Nazarene University. They shared what’s going on at their respective schools and what we can expect in the next year or so.

A huge thanks to BLS #4 sponsors Humana, Johnson County Community College and Terracon.

Check out some photos from the event here.
