KC/DC didn’t disappoint at June Fourth Friday

The second Fourth Friday celebration was even bigger than the first. More than 3,000 packed downtown Olathe for the festivities and braved the heat to watch KC/DC rock the stage.

The annual celebrations, sponsored by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce’s Olathe Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Olathe, are in downtown Olathe this summer. The next party will be from 6 – 9 p.m. this Friday, July 28.

June’s event featured a Sip ‘n’ Shop event along Cherry Street between Loula and Cedar, a beer garden, face painters, balloon artist, a magician, an interactive puppet experience throughout the event and a car show with the KC Corvette Club. The party stretched all the way down Cherry Street to the Cedar and included our friends at Junque Drawer.

Fourth Fridays is presented by Honda and Subaru of Olathe. And a big thanks to our other Fourth Fridays sponsors Azura Credit Union, City of Olathe, Fry Orthodontics, Humana, LeBlanc & Associates Dental, Olathe Communities that Care and Tommy’s Express Car Wash.

Check out some pics from the June event here.

Olathe named one the best places to live

Olathe named one the best places to live

We love the City of Olathe and a lot of people know how awesome our community truly is, but now, more will know. Last week, Livability.com announced its 10th annual Top 100 Best Places to Live list of the best small and mid-sized communities across the country, and Olathe made the list. The list is based on extensive research into relocation trends, economic variables and factors that influence quality of life.

Olathe’s highly educated workforce, stellar public school system and a hospital that continually gets accolades were aspects that landed its spot as a top place to live in the U.S. Among other Kansas cities, Olathe performed best for the environment and for safety categories.

Check out more about Olathe landing on the list of best places to live here.

Help us welcome new educators this fall

Help us welcome new educators this fall

This fall, Olathe Public Schools is welcoming 200 new educators and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce is here to help. Each year, we partner with Olathe Public Schools by collecting coupons and marketing “swag” to add to welcome bags that are given out to each of these new educators to welcome them into our community.

We’re reaching out to you to help us roll out the red carpet for all these new educators. If you’re interested in donating 200 items or coupons, this is a perfect opportunity to promote your business to those educators who are new to our community. All items must be received by July 18.

Please contact Chelsea Taylor to arrange pick up or drop off.

Advertising opportunities available in community map

Advertising sales for the Olathe Chamber of Commerce community map have begun.

More than 10,000 maps are printed and given to residents, sports teams, corporate travelers, conference attendees and leisure travelers. There’s also a digital version of the map that we share. This map is the only official map endorsed and distributed by the Olathe Chamber.

Our MetroMedia Publishing partner will be reaching out to members to offer advertising opportunities in the guide. This is an excellent chance to promote your business and be visible with an engaged audience. For more information on advertising, contact Town Square, a MetroMedia Publishers partner.
