Fourth Friday party returns this week

The first Fourth Friday celebration of the year didn’t disappoint, and neither will the June Fourth Fridays in downtown Olathe.

The annual celebrations are sponsored by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce’s Olathe Convention & Visitors Bureau. And they are back in downtown Olathe in full force this summer. Be sure to join us from 5:30 – 8 p.m. this Friday.

Stop by and enjoy great kids’ activities like face painters, balloon artists, glitter tattoos, caricature drawings and bubbles. There will also be $1 science experiments available from Mad Science, a mobile teddy bear truck, and different animals from Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm each month. Let’s not forget Touring Taps serving up adult beverages and the Sip ‘n’ Shop booths along Park Street where local vendors will be selling products, home goods, clothing, jewelry and other unique items. Contact Susie Carson for more information.

This month, the live band will be the Stolen Winnebagos. Check them out here.

A big thanks to our Fourth Fridays sponsors the City of Olathe, Humana, Olathe Communities that Care, Simmons Bank, VanTrust Real Estate and Xfinity.

Help us welcome new educators this fall

This fall, Olathe Public Schools is welcoming 100 new educators and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce is here to help. We’re collecting coupons and marketing “swag” to add to welcome bags that are given out to each of these new educators.

We’re reaching out to you to help us roll out the red carpet for all these new educators. If you’re interested in donating 100 items or coupons, this is a perfect opportunity to promote your business to those educators who are new to our community. All items must be received by July 15.

Please contact Melissa Hunter to arrange pick up or drop off.
