The primary election is Tuesday, Aug. 6. Advance voting continues through Aug. 5 at various locations around Johnson County. Check here for specific locations and times.

Great crowds turned out for the May and June Fourth Friday events. We can’t wait to see you at our next event in August.

The annual celebrations are sponsored by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce’s Olathe Convention & Visitors Bureau and are in downtown Olathe this summer. The next one is set for 6 – 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 23.

August’s Fourth Friday event will feature JAM: Jackson & Mars. The concert starts at 6 p.m. In the meantime, check out Big Time Grain Co. at Stagecoach Park, 1205 E Kansas City Road, at 7 p.m. this Friday, July 26.

These free events offer live music, kids’ activities, food trucks, beer gardens and so much more. Join us to highlight and promote your business. Offer marketing materials, promotions, sell products or services or offer samples.

From the awesome Fourth Friday events to the monthly Sip ‘n’ Shop events and Olathe Live! concerts, there’s plenty going on in Olathe this summer.

We know there’s plenty more going on across our wonderful community, too. And the Olathe Chamber’s Convention & Visitors Bureau wants to let everyone know about all these great events. That’s where you come in.

Kiddie Academy Ribbon Cutting

Congratulations to Kiddie Academy on their Olathe Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting last week.

Don’t miss New Hope Food Pantry’s next 3 Cans & A Good Time place from 7 – 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. Free entry with 3 cans of food into this fun party! Food, lots of prizes, live music, fishing (bring a pole) and great times. The event takes at 22750 W 183rd St.

Make sure to stop by Johnny’s BBQ Big Back-to-School BBQ Bash that will take place all day on Aug. 3. And the event benefits students in the Olathe School District. It will be a fun-filled day with lots of fun activities for everyone, delicious BBQ, ice cream from the Golden Scoop, a school supply drive and a whole lot more.

Pack a picnic and bring the kids to the Johnson County Square in downtown Olathe on Thursday mornings from 10 – 11:30 a.m. for Kids Bash. Each week the event provides free family-friendly entertainment. This week features Mr. Stinky Feet and the Hiccups on Thursday, July 25. Visit here for more information.

In an effort to help meet the need for local students, the City of Olathe Municipal Court is accepting school supply donations for a $50 credit toward traffic or parking fines. Partnering with the Olathe Public Schools Foundation’s goal to provide more than 2,200 backpacks for Olathe’s most vulnerable students, the school supply campaign will run July 15 – 26. A purchase of $15 worth of new school supplies will net a maximum $50 credit toward traffic (infractions only) or parking fines. Individuals must bring their receipt with the donations.
