First BLS to feature Allison Howard, President of KC Current
Please join us for the first Olathe Chamber of Commerce Business Lunch Series event of the year to hear from Allison Howard, President of the Kansas City Current. The event take place at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the Ball Conference Center. Register now.
The luncheon will feature a conversation with the woman behind Kansas City’s professional women’s soccer team. The Current is coming off a remarkable 2022 season where they finished second in the National Women’s Soccer League.
Howard will speak on Kansas City’s commitment to build the first soccer specific stadium in the NWSL and working to create the best environment for players and fans. She will also discuss the organization’s vision and continued momentum we’ll see in the coming months, elevating the sport and the entire Kansas City area.

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting is set for 11:15 a.m. on Friday, March 3 at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center.

recognize individuals and businesses for the achievements over the past year. It’s time to celebrate everything that happened in 2022 and look ahead to what will be another great year in Olathe.

Advertising sales for the Olathe Convention & Visitors Bureau visitors guide have begun.
More than 10,000 guides are printed and given to sports teams, corporate travelers, conference attendees and leisure travelers. There’s also a digital version of the guide that we share across the area and region.

The Garmin Olathe Marathon is coming up on April 22. As the big day quickly approaches, the annual Holmes Murphy Garmin Olathe Marathon Packet Pick-up and Expo on April 20-21 is a perfect opportunity to promote your business.

- The National Association of Elementary and Secondary Education Act State Program Administrators (NAESPA) announced that Westview Elementary School has been named a National ESEA Distinguished School. Westview is one of 100 Title I schools throughout the country to be nationally recognized for exceptional student achievement in 2022.
- Approximately 150 vendors and more than 600 veterans will be on hand at the Greater Kansas City Veteran Career and Transition Fair from 1 – 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at the Overland Park Convention Center, 6000 College Blvd. Maciel Wealth Management is one of the sponsors of the 6th annual event. - In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy, the Olathe Public Library is collecting non-perishable food donations for Harvesters Community Food Network. Collection bins will be available at both Olathe library locations through Tuesday, Feb. 14. Visit OlatheLibrary.org for library hours.

If you have multiple day events, a form must be submitted for each day. Listings must meet the established criteria.
