Vote Joco 524

Primary election results are in; learn more about the general election

Three Olathe races had primaries last Tuesday including the Olathe City Council At-Large and Ward 1 seat, and the Olathe School Board At-Large seat. Unofficial election results for Olathe primaries are available here. The official results will be certified on Aug. 9. The top two in each race advance to the Nov. 7 general election.

Looking for more information about November’s general election? Be sure to see all of the news you need right here.

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce, along with the Johnson County Public Policy Council has provided information about the local candidates and some interviews. They can be found here.

For more information about voting in Johnson County, check here.

And just a reminder, while we love our elected officials and everything they do for our city, county and local school boards, we do not endorse any candidates. Just because someone may tag the Olathe Chamber in a post does not equal an endorsement. We have an issues-only Political Action Committee, but do not endorse individual candidates. With the primary election less than two weeks away, please learn as much as you can about the candidates you feel would be the best for our community. Much of that information can be found at www.votejoco.com. Be informed and exercise your right to vote.

Third BLS a huge hit

Our third Business Lunch Series event was a big hit last week at the Cunningham Center on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University.

We heard from some of the most influential women leaders in non-profit. Erin Dugan, CEO of KidsTLC, moderated the panel of experts who discussed their leadership style, what makes them successful and shared information that led them to the world of non-profit organizations.

Our panelists were Wendy Doyle of United WE, Lindsay Hicks of Habitat for Humanity and Cindy VonFeldt of the Olathe Public Schools Foundation.

A big thanks to our BLS #3 sponsors, Humana, Johnson County Community College, Country Club Bank and McCownGordon Construction.

Check out some pics from the event here.

The cost is $25 for members.
