Garmin Olathe Marathon another success

Garmin Olathe Marathon
another success

The 21st annual Garmin Olathe Marathon, brought to you by the Olathe Chamber of Commerce’s Convention & Visitors Bureau along with our main sponsor, Garmin, was last weekend and what a day. It was a bit chilly, but our dedicated runners made the most of it.

More than 3,000 runners representing nearly all 50 states and several different countries ran the marathon, half marathon and 10K races. In addition, more than 200 competed in the MultiStudio Munchkin Marathon & Family Run, and more than 50 participated in the CenterWell Senior Walk. There was something for everyone this year. Check here for complete results and race photos

A huge thank you to all our sponsors and volunteers for making this year’s event possible. We couldn’t have done it without you. There was plenty of fun on the course this year. Everyone had a blast.

We also want to thank all of our Holmes Murphy Expo and Packet Pick Up vendors. Plenty of runners made there way through the two-day expo at the Ball Event Center.

We’d also like to thank marathon sponsors Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas City, Humana and John Deere. And there’s no way we could have done any of it without the help of Olathe Ford Lincoln and Fry Wager. A big shout out to other contributing sponsors Crawford Sales, Hy-Vee and Pepsi Beverage Co.

We’re moving downtown, doors open next week

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce is in the final stages of moving downtown. The Chamber will call 260 E. Santa Fe, Suite 101 home as of May 1.

We’ll begin the moving process this week and be up and running in our new office on the first floor of the brand-new Olathe Downtown Library on Monday May 1.

Please excuse our mess as we get settled. While our office is in transition, our commitment to our members is not. It’s business as usual and our members are still our top priority. During the interim, the best way to get ahold of us will be via e-mail.

Celebrate the grand opening of the Olathe Downtown Library from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. this Saturday, April 29. Festivities include a ribbon-cutting ceremony, live music, face painting, and more. The multi-story building, located at 260 E Santa Fe, will total 46,600 sq. ft. and will feature a large flexbox space, a café, numerous meeting and study rooms, a rooftop terrace, and a special Olathe history collection.

We can’t wait to see you downtown!
