Olathe, Kansas, — The 10th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration at MidAmerica Nazarene University will be held Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., at College Church of the Nazarene at 2020 E. Each year MNU presents its Martin Luther King Jr. Living Legacy Award. This year’s recipients are Michael and Lynda Randle of Kansas City. Michael is the lead pastor at Mosaic Bible Fellowship, a multi-ethnic church near the Historic 18th and Vine Jazz District in Kansas City, Missouri. Lynda, a singer, songwriter, author, and TV personality is a Dove-award winner and has shared the stage with Andre Crouch and Gladys Knight. She has been a musical guest for Billy Graham Crusades and appears on the Gather Homecoming series and video.

Michael will be the event’s featured speaker, presenting thoughts on “Advance the Dream.” Lynda will share her story and perform musical selections. In addition, MNU’s 2015-2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Leader Scholars will be recognized at the event. MNU established this scholarship program for persons from diverse ethnicities who wish to emulate Dr. King’s passion for learning and servant leadership. MNU Leader Scholars maintain their scholarship award by demonstrating academic and leadership qualities during their university studies.
