Olathe Medical Center earns more accolades

Olathe Medical Center Earns Top National Awards for Patient Care

Olathe Medical Center (OMC) has recently earned several awards from national organizations for outstanding patient care in orthopedics, heart attack treatment and stroke care.

U.S. News & World Report – High Performing in Hip Replacement

OMC has been recognized as a High Performing Hospital for 2019-20. The High Performing rating recognizes hospitals who provide care that is significantly better than the national average. Factors evaluated to determine this rating include patient outcomes, infection prevention, ratio of nursing care per patient, and length of hospital stay.

American College of Cardiology – NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award

This platinum award is the premier award from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and is only awarded to 225 (approximately four percent) hospitals nationwide. This is the eight consecutive year OMC has received a Platinum Recognition from the ACC for cardiac care. OMC is also one of only 15 hospitals in the country chosen as a Diplomat Hospital as part of the ACC’s Patient Navigator Program: Focus MI Quality Campaign.

American Heart Association/American Stroke Association – Get With the Guidelines Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus Gold Quality Achievement Award

This award is the highest level of recognition from the AHA/ASA and is the third consecutive year OMC has received the gold award. Gold is earned by hospitals that have achieved specific quality standard for 24 consecutive months or more. OMC additionally received the association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite award.
