Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center honored by Hilton
The Embassy Suites Hotel and Convention Center in Olathe was honored as the Deal of the Year by Hilton on Wednesday.
The Heart of America Group and owner Mike Whalen were among a small number of annual development award winners throughout the Americas by Hilton. Awards are presented in five categories across the company’s portfolio of hotels, including Developer of the Year, Best Conversion, Deal of the Year, Outstanding Achievement and Lifetime Achievement. Recipients are awarded based on criteria ranging from total number and quality of hotels developed to impact on community.
Heart of America Group is the management company that runs the Embassy Suites and several other properties across the Midwest. This award represents the best Embassy Suites hotel that was developed this year despite insurmountable odds, provided a positive impact on the community, is an outstanding representative of the Hilton brand, or was opened in the shortest timeframe.
“The Heart of America Group and the City of Olathe worked hard to build one of the coolest Embassy Suites out there, including a conference center and The J Bar restaurant,” Whalen said. “We think receiving the award for Deal of the Year – is a pretty big deal.”
