Olathe, Kan. – The election season is in full swing, so the timing is perfect for the first Olathe Business Lunch Series of the year and its focus on the candidates and issues.

The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 9 at the Ball Conference Center, 21350 W. 153rd Street, and will feature a panel of area professionals who follow the political process. Attendees can register online at www.olathe.org. Media are encouraged to attend as well.

Jeannie Hodes, co-host of the Comcast and Time Warner “Newsmakers” program will serve as moderator.  Panelists include Ronnie Metsker, newly-appointed Johnson County Election Commissioner; Brian Wright, Ph.D. Professor of Political Science at Johnson County Community College; and Sam Zeff, Reporter at KCUR radio.

“I am excited to hear the participants offer their thoughts on the election,” said Olathe Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive Officer Tim McKee. “The topic is obviously timely, but each of the panelists has a distinct area of expertise providing attendees a comprehensive summation of the election process, candidates and issues.”

The event is sponsored by John Deere, Harmon Construction, and Johnson County Community College.

The cost is $25 a person for members and $40 for future members. Corporate tables of eight are also available for $300 and $400 respectively. For additional information, contact Sara Misemer at smisemer@olathe.org or at (913) 764-1050.
