The J Bar in Olathe receives 2016 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence
The J Bar restaurant in Olathe is proud to accept the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 2016.
To celebrate, The J Bar is hosting a Wine Spectator Award Party from 5 -7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8
The party is open to the public and will feature live music and complimentary food and wine pairing on The J Bar’s second floor Urban Terrace.
Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
To qualify for an award, the list must present complete, accurate wine information. It must include vintages and appellations for all selections, including wines available by the glass. Complete producer names and correct spellings are mandatory, while the overall presentation and appearance of the list is also taken into consideration.
The Award of Excellence is offered for lists that offer a well-chosen selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. Typically, these lists offer at least 90 selections.
Other factors taken into consideration are Wine Director/Sommelier, Wine Strengths, Wine Selections, Wine Pricing, Corkage, Cuisine Type and Menu Prices.
