The big day is almost here! Blazing New Trails offers you the opportunity to support the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Foundation Fund and enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment. It is set for the Friday, Aug. 21 at Ball Conference Center, 21350 West 153rd Street. The proceeds are invested in leadership, economic development and tourism activities for Olathe. Friday, Aug. 14 is the last day to register (here).

The Commemorative Air Force Red Tail Squadron, America's tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen, is bringing its Rise Above traveling exhibit to Olathe. Robert Brogden Buick GMC is sponsoring the event, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Aug. 19-20 at the dealership, 1500 East Santa Fe. Olathe Chamber member Michael Bradbury (pictured left above), owner of The Funnel Cake Truck, partnered with Mike Elder of Black Sheep Custom Cakes to win Cake Wars, Aug. 10 as televised on the Food Channel. Boys & Girls Club to expand services in Olathe

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City's Olathe Unit is finishing up its fourth year of facilitating the Atomic Blast summer program. This summer has been the best yet, serving an average of more than 110 young people daily throughout July and early August. This month, the Olathe Club will officially open as a year-round before and after school program opportunity for youth in Olathe. Operating at the Center of Grace at 520 S.   • Two Olathe Medical Center physicians are on Newsweek's "Top Cancer Doctors of 2015" list. Dr. Stephen Smalley, radiation oncologist at Radiation Oncology Center, and Dr. Bradley Davis, urologic oncologist at Urologic Surgery Associates, are two of only five doctors in Kansas who made the list. NOTE: Each month the Olathe Chamber recognizes a representative of its Membership Council. This group acts as additional "eyes and ears" for staff to help enhance service to the membership as a whole. We appreciate their time and effort to help businesses and organizations in our community.

Jeff RoblezThis month's Olathe Chamber of Commerce Membership Council spotlight is on Jeff Roblez, CPA - Mize Houser & Company.

Jeff Roblez, CPA, has been a fixture on the Olathe business scene as a highly-respected accounting professional. For the past 19 years he has been Tax Manager at Mize Houser & Company, P.A. In addition to his service with the Olathe Chamber, he is a member of the Olathe Noon Optimist Club. He served as president in 1990 and was member of the year in 1992.

Roblez has years of experience providing multi-state income tax preparation, tax planning, consulting and research services to successful business owners. In addition, he provides controllership services using robust cloud computing solutions.

Roblez has a degree in accounting from Emporia State University and a law degree from the Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver.
