Olathe Health announces $70 million expansion, providing convenient access to specialty services

Olathe Health has responded to the community’s need for increased access to specialty care and outpatient services with a new phase of bold growth and expansion. In August, the regional health system’s first phase of expansion will begin with construction on two new complexes. The nearly $70 million investment will expand Olathe Health’s footprint and service offerings.

The first business venture, located in the Landmark National Bank building near Highway 69 and 135th street in Overland Park, will be the site of two new outpatient centers: Omni Outpatient Surgery and Olathe Health Multispecialty Center. The second project, located at the northwest corner of 151st and Quivira, consists of a new medical campus that will house everything from primary and urgent care to specialty care and surgery services.

“Expanding our ambulatory footprint is a patient-driven initiative focused on increased access and convenience,” Stan Holm, CHFP, FACHE, President/CEO of Olathe Health, said.

135th and 69 Highway
Olathe Health’s first off-campus ambulatory surgery center (ASC), Omni Outpatient Surgery, will open its doors in spring 2023. Occupying a 15,000-square-foot space on the second floor of the Landmark National Bank building, the ASC will be a joint venture of physicians and Olathe Health.

“Omni Outpatient Surgery will provide a viable alternative to hospital-based care through our continued commitment to quality care and safety,” Holm said. “We already serve people from Overland Park and its surrounding areas. This expansion will bring extended surgical and specialty service access to an active area of Overland Park.”

Olathe Health will also open a multispecialty clinic in the same building. Located on the first floor, the 5,000-square-foot clinic will house various Olathe Health specialists in one convenient location.
Construction on Omni Outpatient Surgery and Olathe Health Multispecialty Center will begin later this summer and renovations should be complete in spring 2023.

151st and Quivira
At over 60,000 square-feet, the two-story campus will be home to the health system’s first freestanding imaging center and a second ASC. It will also house primary care, urgent care, lab and rehabilitation services, as well as specialty care clinics. The ASC will be a joint venture of physicians and Olathe Health, and the new imaging center will provide patients with affordable and convenient imaging options.

“In creating a one-stop-shop experience, the Quivira campus represents the pinnacle of increased access to healthcare,” Holm said. “The growing patient demand for improved access and better experiences, combined with innovation and technology, has resulted in numerous procedures and services migrating into the ambulatory setting. Providing the right care at the right place at the right time is what advances our mission.”

Olathe Health will break ground at the new campus in August 2022, and construction should be complete in December 2023.
