Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company to Build New Production Campus in Olathe

Representatives from Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company attended Olathe’s City Council meeting last evening to review benefit district infrastructure needs specific to their intended development of a 150-acre property in the community.

Heartland is pursuing a plan to build a nearly 600,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Production Campus in Olathe, Kan. Slated to open late 2024, it will significantly expand current production capabilities.

Junior Bridgeman established Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 2017 with a commitment to build a great place to work, a strong connection to Heartland’s communities and a locally-based business that would grow into the future serving its customers. As Heartland celebrates its fifth anniversary, the Bridgeman family and the leadership team are pleased to announce plans for this new Production Campus, which will secure its position as an anchor Coca-Cola bottler in the Midwest and support economic growth for local communities for generations to come.

The company’s current production facility in Lenexa was built in 1969. “With this new campus, we will modernize our production process as we continue to embrace our core Heartland values of family, community, inclusion and service,” said Heartland President Chuck Wyant.

It will be business as usual for Heartland’s Lenexa production facility over the next two-and-a-half to three years as the new campus is built, opens, and eventually reaches full capacity sometime in 2025.
Heartland’s Lenexa Distribution Center and headquarters offices will remain in Lenexa.

“Olathe is a great place to invest, and we’re excited to welcome Heartland Coca-Cola to our city,” said Olathe Mayor John Bacon. “We look forward to working together to bring this project to life, supporting opportunities for growth that will extend into the future.”

Heartland Executive Director Justin Bridgeman concluded, “We want to first thank our team members for their commitment to Heartland – and thank our customers, business partners, communities, and community leaders for their support as we complete our plans for this exciting new campus. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.”

About Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company
Based in Lenexa, Kan., Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company, LLC was founded in early 2017 by successful former NBA professional and business leader Junior Bridgeman. Bridgeman’s longstanding connection to Coca-Cola and the Midwest began 30 years earlier during his NBA career, when he volunteered at basketball clinics sponsored by the company. His partnership with Coca-Cola continued as he built several notable restaurant franchise operations, and led to the establishment of Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company. Today, Heartland is an anchor Coca-Cola bottler in the Midwest, proudly serving over 25,000 customers across Kansas, Missouri and Illinois. The Bridgeman family’s founding principles guide the organization’s daily operations: putting people first by creating a culture of value and inclusion; connecting with and serving its local communities; and providing the highest quality products and service to its customers and consumers.
