Creek Named Chief People Officer for AdventHealth Mid-America Region

AdventHealth recently named Gina Creek as chief people officer for the Mid-America Region. In her new role, Creek will lead human resources at AdventHealth’s hospitals and clinics in Kansas and Wisconsin, including AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, AdventHealth South Overland Park, AdventHealth Ottawa and AdventHealth Durand.

Creek has been with AdventHealth since 2011, having first worked in project management, leadership development and change management for the health care system’s information technology team. She then led the organization’s Emerging Leader Program, developing high potential leaders for executive roles. Since 2018, she has led AdventHealth’s Leadership Institute, including overseeing the assessment, design and development of multi-level leadership programs and interventions to meet the needs of an 80,000-member workforce.

“I’m honored to have Gina Creek join our Mid-America Region leadership team,” said Sam Huenergardt, CEO of AdventHealth’s Mid-America Region. “Many of our local leaders have benefitted from her guidance and programming, and I look forward to seeing the impact she will have at a regional level as we continue investing in retention and recruitment amidst a shortage of health care workers.”

In her new role, Creek will advise the regional leadership team on human resources initiatives, including attracting, motivating and retaining top talent; performance management; leadership development; employee engagement and strategic planning that contributes to AdventHealth’s growth.

“I am excited to continue my career at AdventHealth by getting back to my roots in Kansas City,” said Creek. “My father served as a chaplain at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission for more than two decades, so this is a very special opportunity for me to support our teams in the Mid-America Region.”

Creek earned her doctorate in education from Vanderbilt University, her master’s in organizational development from Avila University and her bachelor’s in education from Union College. She is also a published author in leadership culture.
